SICSA: Ancile-Hab: The Shield of Mars

This project was developed for NASA's 3D Printed Habitat Competition by myself and a team of collaborators I lead at SICSA.  The concept was to 3D print a pressure vessel from processed Martian regolith.  A habitat capsule would then be inserted into this structure by small and robust robots. The habitat capsule is pre-integrated and tested with ECLSS and other systems.  An ultra-thin and air-tight bladder inflates from the capsule to create habitable volume. The inflatable fits within the void of the 3D printed pressure vessel.  Internal elements and primary structure are printed from brought material.
